FIFA World Cup competitions are among the most eagerly awaited sporting events. Catering to this interest, a ten-part series, Moment of Truth, will stream exclusively on TOD (OTT platform) highlighting significant World Cup moments.

“Nothing excites a FIFA fan more than untold inside stories, anecdotes, and behind-the-scenes efforts teams put together for the 90-minute on-field thrill. Moment of Truth brings out the passion, persistence, and faith that players, teams, and fans have in the spirit of football. This series is an unmissable one for football aficionados,” said John Paul Mckerlie, VP of marketing and sales at TOD.

The first episode will air on September 20, and new episodes will be made accessible every Friday after the FIFA countdown, with the series finale streaming on November 18, 2022.

Available with Arabic subtitles, the series will be narrated by British actor and presenter David Harewood. Its opening episode, Absolution, tells the stories of criminals who become World Cup heroes. Those closest to the players share intimate information about how the World Cup greats recovered from their setbacks, including David Beckham’s moment of madness for England, France’s surprise semi-final savior, and Ronaldo’s puzzling removal from Brazil’s final lineup.

Legendary athletes Claudio Gentile (Italy), Marcel Desailly (France), Hope Solo (USA), Michael Owen (England), Ricky Villa (Argentina), Cafu (Brazil), Andrés Iniesta (Spain), and Philipp Lahm (Germany) are all interviewed in the show. Fans, commentators, and world-class psychiatrists discuss career-defining comeback tales.

“Sporting stars such as Andres Iniesta, Lothar Matthäus, Aya Miyama, and Michael Owen explain the fervor, joy, and genius that drove them as we seek to uncover why football makes us all care so much and so passionately,” said Mark Cole, managing director at Whisper.
