To discuss the long-term effects of the evolving energy system and establish the global energy agenda for the coming year, The seventh Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum will take place between January 14 and 15, 2023, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

As the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28), will be held in the United Arab Emirates at the end of the year, vital climate and energy strategy concerns will take center stage, making this year’s meeting particularly important.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will, once again, serve as the event’s patron for the seventh iteration of the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum. John Kerry, a former US secretary of state and special presidential envoy for climate change, will be one of the speakers.
In light of the ongoing effects of the Ukraine crisis on the energy transition, the meeting in 2023 will pay particular attention to the problem of balancing energy security priority and decarbonization activities concurrently.

The forum—convened in partnership with the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mubadala Investment Company, TAQA, and Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC)—will be a part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. This worldwide occasion encourages cooperation on climate action and net-zero promises.

“As host of COP28, we are honored to welcome attendees of the Global Energy Forum to the United Arab Emirates to discuss the ongoing energy transition. This year’s forum provides a unique opportunity to not only talk about the energy agenda of the year ahead but also begin the conversation for the United Nations Climate Change Conference now. We look forward to your attendance at the 2023 Global Energy Forum in Abu Dhabi,” said His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, minister of energy and infrastructure of UAE.

The 2023 Forum will switch back to a hybrid model, building on the momentum of the 2022 Forum. In addition to the global reach of virtual programming, it will include the advantages of in-person networking, discussions, workshops, and receptions in Abu Dhabi.
