Jaeger-LeCoultre launches Master Control Chronometre with new precision certification
The launch introduces three models— Date, Perpetual Calendar, and Date Power Reserve.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled the Master Control Chronometre collection, marking a new phase in its long-running Master line. The launch introduces three models: Date, Perpetual Calendar, and Date Power Reserve, each powered by in-house movements and offered in stainless steel or 18K pink gold, depending on the variant.
The collection features a newly designed case and integrated bracelet, reflecting a more contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the brand’s focus on precision and wearability.
A key highlight is the introduction of the High Precision Guarantee (HPG), a new certification that subjects fully assembled watches to rigorous testing under simulated real-life conditions, including shocks, temperature variations, and positional changes. All models are also certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres.
The new line builds on more than eight decades of development under the Master name, combining historical design cues with modern refinements, including improved legibility, integrated bracelets, and slimmer profiles.
Each model offers a distinct level of complication. The Date Power Reserve introduces the new in-house Caliber 738, pairing a power reserve indicator with a date display in a 39 mm steel case. It features a symmetrical dial layout inspired by mid-century designs.
The Perpetual Calendar model is the most complex offering, featuring a full calendar with moon phases displayed across four sub-dials. Powered by Caliber 868, it automatically adjusts for varying month lengths and leap years, requiring no correction until 2100 under normal operation, while maintaining a slim 39 mm case profile.
The Date model offers the most streamlined configuration, with a three-hand display and date function in a more compact 38 mm case. Driven by Caliber 899, it is positioned as the most versatile option for everyday wear.
Across the collection, all movements operate at 4 Hz and deliver a 70-hour power reserve. They incorporate technical features, such as silicon escapements, to improve efficiency and resist magnetic interference. Finishing remains central, with traditional decorative techniques visible through sapphire casebacks.
