Hailed as revolutionary theater, with its rapping 18th-century statesmen, it’s feel-good rap and hip-hop alongside R&B, and an extraordinary cast, fans of the award-winning musical Hamilton have a reason to cheer as the 2015 musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda is on its way to Abu Dhabi next year.

Based on Ron Chernow’s 2004 book detailing the life of American statesman Alexander Hamilton, the musical is on a world tour and will be performing for UAE fans from January 17 to February 6, 2024 at the Etihad Arena in the country’s capital city.

After The Lion King was staged last November, this will be the next production of international acclaim to be staged at the Etihad Arena. Sharing the news on its Instagram handle, the @etihadarena.ae, it shared a video of Miranda saying, “Don’t throw away your shot,” referring to the musical’s noted track “My Shot”.

The musical has a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway.

The handle shared the link to ‘Hamilton pre-sale waitlist registration’ in its bio, where fans can book their tickets well in advance. Early bird pre-sale tickets are set to drop on Friday May 19, with general sale tickets available.

“With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography and is the story of America then told by America now,” read the registration link.

After the announcement, fans flooded the comment section, excited to see their favorite artists on stage next year, asking if Miranda would perform.
