The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), which is participating at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2022 held under the theme “United on Climate Action Toward COP28″, will oversee the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish a national investment partnership to support the shift to a circular economy and announce new decrees to enhance the sustainability of the industrial sector.

As part of its participation, the ministry will also highlight its range of incentives and enablers, including green financing for the industrial sector as part of the Make it in the Emirates initiative, which supports the localization of supply chains.

MoIAT will also showcase key programs that promote adopting Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) solutions in the industry to enhance productivity, efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability.

The ministry will spotlight the UAE’s legislative framework, which enables advanced and future industries such as the manufacturing of hydrogen and electric vehicles. The framework facilitates partnerships and integration between leading companies in the UAE and their foreign counterparts, many of whom are participating in ADSW.

MoIAT aims to use ADSW to reveal the details of new ventures and partnerships to tackle plastic pollution through advanced recycling technologies in line with the nationwide shift to a circular economy and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative.

In line with the Week’s theme and ahead of COP28, MoIAT will highlight several of its projects and programs that offer effective tools to enhance the adoption of sustainable practices, leverage advanced technology to cut emissions and drive climate action in the industrial sector.

MoIAT will present updates and outcomes of its energy and water consumption efficiency programs and highlight its regulatory system for solar energy and hydrogen-powered vehicles and investment opportunities in the UAE’s renewable energy sector.
