The arrival of AI tools like ChatGPT has transformed our lives and changed the job market dramatically. Everyone has to roll up their sleeves and chase skill development for a future-proof career, as employees already use their AI skills to learn how to improve their productivity.
To keep up with the demand, Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) and Oracle have launched an initiative to boost AI skills among women professionals and entrepreneurs in Dubai.
Led by Oracle Women Leadership (OWL), the sAIdaty initiative will help upskill 500 women members of DBWC to implement AI technology across their businesses.
During the one-year initiative, Oracle experts and DBWC leaders will set up training sessions on topics based on understanding the basics of AI and its applications, cloud computing, Gen AI, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain.
Nadine Halabi, Business Development Manager of DBWC, said the initiative will propel women to the forefront of innovation.
“AI is a game-changer for businesses and careers, and our collaboration with Oracle aims to amplify its impact across Dubai and the UAE. We believe empowering women entrepreneurs in technology will advance their professional journeys and contribute significantly to the UAE’s digital economy goals.”
Oracle and DBWC will jointly host classroom sessions, virtual meetings, speed mentoring events, and networking activities for the program participants.
Nick Redshaw, Senior Vice President – Tech Cloud, Middle East and Africa, and UAE Country Leader, Oracle, mentions, “The UAE’s digital economy strategy aims to double the contribution of the digital economy to the UAE’s non-oil GDP from 11.7% to over 20% within the next ten years. This vision can be achieved only with complete participation from all stakeholders and communities. Women professionals and entrepreneurs represent a major percentage of the UAE’s workforce, and it is important to equip them with skills that help boost the adoption of the latest technologies like AI.”
