If you’re tired of waiting in line to check in your luggage before boarding your flight, there’s some good news. Now, airports across Saudi Arabia are launching a new service that allows passengers to complete their travel procedures from their homes and ship baggage to their destination ahead of their travel.

This service will cover all airports in the country throughout the year and is available on domestic and international flights.

Matarat Holding Company announced the launch of the Passenger with no Bag service that will come into force during the first quarter of 2024, the company said in a statement. The initiative aims to reduce airport wait times and minimize the need for passengers to carry luggage at the airport.

Those using the service must hold a validated ticket/booking for one of the airlines. They also must finalize all documentation required for travel and follow regulations for prohibited items for luggage.

The service aligns with the Saudi Aviation Strategy, which sees an expansion of passengers fueled by public and private sector investment of $100 billion by 2030. It also plays a role in Vision 2030, aiming to diversify the economy and expand the non-oil sectors.
