In support of the nation’s continuous use of cloud technology to speed its digital transformation in line with the National Vision 2030, Google Cloud has announced a number of new agreements with government organizations, commercial trade associations, and local companies in Qatar.

A supplementary agreement between QFZA and Google Cloud was signed by Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, and H.E. Ahmad Al Sayed, Minister of State and Chairman of the Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA).

“Google Cloud has become one of our core partners, benefiting itself from Qatar and its Free Zones’ support and infrastructure while also providing world-leading technology to our investors and leading companies across the nation and the region,” said Al Sayed.

This agreement oversees the opening of Google Cloud’s Center of Excellence in Qatar Free Zones and promotes the development of smart free zone operations utilizing Google Cloud-based technologies.

The center, which digitally launched in June 2021, has already provided cloud computing training to over 3,000 participants, acting as a catalyst to upskill Qatar’s digital workforce.

Participants in Qatar who are interested in becoming certified cloud digital leaders are welcome to visit the Google Cloud Center of Excellence, which also provides training to the local community.

“Qatar Free Zones Authority is a key enabler in enhancing Qatar’s digital future,” Kurian said.
