UAE aims to shift 50% of government services to AI-based models by 2028
The framework will streamline procedures, speed up service delivery, improve decision-making and strengthen national AI capabilities.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, reviewed the progress of a new UAE government framework aimed at transforming 50% of federal government sectors and services within the next two years through the use of Agentic AI.
The initiative is part of the UAE’s broader digital transformation strategy and aims to integrate artificial intelligence into government operations to enable more autonomous execution, advanced data analysis, and enhanced decision-making.
According to Sheikh Mohammed, adopting AI across government operations is a strategic priority aligned with the vision of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is intended to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global leader in advanced, technology-driven governance models.
He said the initiative aims to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality, and deliver more proactive, people-centric government services.
Under the framework, 50% of government processes and services are expected to transition to AI-based models capable of independently performing tasks and supporting decision-making.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, said implementation work has already begun under directives overseen by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The project includes developing the operational requirements and infrastructure needed to support AI-driven government functions.
According to the announcement, the framework is expected to streamline procedures, accelerate service delivery, improve decision-making accuracy, strengthen federal data integration, and build national AI capabilities.
The initiative also aims to reinforce the UAE’s position as a leader in digital governance and advanced government transformation models.
